Strategic
Policy Planning
Two
Roads has provided strategic policy planning advice, facilitated strategic
planning meetings, led in policy development and conducted policy research
on a broad scope of issues at the national, provincial, regional,
municipal and local levels of government.
Among my clients has been the Office of the Parliamentary Secretary for
Agriculture, the Queen’s Privy Council Office of Canada, Office of the
Auditor General of Canada, Industry Canada, the Department of National
Defence, the First Nation of Na-Cho N’y’ak Dun (Yukon) and the
Municipality of West Bolton.
Government Policy Advice
Lobbying
Sometimes, gaining insight into the potential direction of a political
entity or assisting that entity in appreciating the impact of their
decisions may mean the difference between taking a risk and missing an
opportunity. Often bringing your organizations views to the attention of
the policy-makers may provide them with the input to arrive at a decision that will improve the
circumstances of numerous stakeholders. Through contract experience
with the Federal Government, Two Roads has developed relationships and
forged partnerships with many governmental and extra governmental
organizations. Two Roads will help you get that message across to the
people who make the important choices.
Assistance with government funding programs
Whether you have a new company or a seasoned organization, awareness of
the support available from governments can make the difference between
success and failure. Federal, provincial, territorial and municipal
governments in Canada deliver hundreds of programs to assist all sizes of
business. Becoming aware of and understanding the application process for
these programs and services can be a taxing and frustrating endeavour. If
Two Roads is not already aware of specific resources available to your
firm, I have the tools to find out in record time. Two Roads can find the programs and
services available, provide you with important contacts at the sponsoring
agency, and make sure your applications are in order so that you can begin
your new venture with the minimum of delay.
Administrative Re-engineering
At the Queen’s Privy Council Office of Canada, Two Roads was involved in
providing advice to the Federal Government during the federal program
review and public service renewal campaigns of the mid-90s. Working
with British Columbia and Yukon First Nation administrations, Two Roads
has assisted in the development of constitutions and the mechanisms of
self-government, and in the implementation of the institutions of
governance. Contracts with the Office of the Auditor General of Canada
resulted in the
re-assessment and significant changes in the Department of National
Defence’s management of its international peacekeeping efforts. A long
term contract with the Aerospace and Defence Branch at Industry Canada saw
the creation and putting into force of Technology Partnerships Canada, a
replacement program for the Defence Industry Productivity Program.
Two Roads has also worked on administrative re-engineering at the
provincial and local government levels. Two Roads can assist your
organization in many aspects of strategic policy analysis.
